The Palatine Youth Baseball/Softball Player Academy
•1. "Who is eligible to train?" Any registered player within the PYB/S program is eligible to take advantage of the training offered.
•2. "How old do you have to be to train?" The Player Academy's professional instructors believe that it's never too early to learn the correct way to play the game. From T-Ball to High School, The Player Academy has the professional instruction for all talent levels.
•3. "Where does the training take place?" The Palatine Park District has a number of facilities that are available for the Player Academy. At this time, the Player Academy primarily utilizes the Community Center Shelf located at 250 E Wood St, Palatine, IL.
•4. "How do I sign up for training?" On the left-hand side of the PYB/S website, there is a tab for the Player Academy that will take you through the entire sign up process including payment. Signing up for Individual and Group training is available on-line.
•5. "How do I set up a Team Training session?" Email the Player Academy at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a schedule for the professionals to meet your team.
•6. "What if I forget a lesson?" The Player Academy will send an email confirmation of the lesson directly to you. Also, 48 hours prior to the lesson, an additional reminder email will be sent to you.
•7. "Can I cancel a lesson?" Yes! Anytime up to 24 hours before the lesson. A credit for the lesson will be included on your account which can be applied to further lessons.
•8. "How do I reschedule?" Sign into the website under your account and enter a lesson. At the payment option, a credit will show if the previous lesson was cancelled prior to 24 hours before the scheduled time.
•9. "How do I set up a Small Group lesson?" Small Group lessons are a great way for younger players to get the hang of what to expect in training. Additionally, it is a great way to have specialized training in a certain aspect of the game such as catching or fielding. Setting up a Small Group lesson does involve some work. Sign in to the Academy site and enter "Small Group Lesson". Enter the participants names and information.
•10. "Is it possible to have each Small Group player pay separately?" Unfortunately, at this time, the only way to set up a small group lesson is to have the transaction under one credit card.
•11. "Are lessons age appropriate?" Although our players range in age from 5 to 12 years old, our instructors are versed at keeping the lesson as advanced as the individual student can handle. For example, Hitting Instruction might include more basic tee work for the student just learning the rotational swing yet a more advanced student might be able to handle more live batting practice.
